The Drew University Career Center has opened its doors to Drew alumni/ae as part of the Drew for Life initiative, the lifelong support that Drew University provides its alumni/ae.
The process of career decision making extends across a lifetime, and whether you are facing a transition due to the current economic crisis or because of an inner calling, the staff at the Career Center can help. The Center is now open Wednesday evenings to meet with alumni/ae either at the Center or for phone appointments. In addition to assistance with resume review and job search strategies, the Center offers self-assessment and career planning. MyPlan career assessment tools and research are offered in conjunction with counseling services. Recognizing the unique challenges adults face in making career changes, the Career Center is committed to helping make that transition smoother and more successful. Call (973) 408-3710 for more information.
All alumni/ae are encouraged to post job openings for other Drew alums and internships for current students, as well as provide career advice by participating in networking activities and online mentoring.
Visit the Career Center website for more information.
Exploring career options understandably raises a lot of questions. What is the best way to break into a particular field? How readily can I apply the skills learned in this job to another occupation? What will my career advancement path be like? The Career Advisory Network can help.
The Career Advisory Network is the online mentoring program, available through DREWnet, where alumni/ae can volunteer to serve as a mentor for fellow alumni/ae and/or current students. Through one-on-one interaction, via e-mail, phone or in-person meetings, alumni/ae share their knowledge, experiences and provide insight regarding careers, industries and organizational cultures.
Use this tool to get an inside look at career options through informational interviewing and networking. This program is not designed for job search, but rather serves as an educational and informational program to enhance career exploration.
To enter the Career Advisory Network to become or search for an online mentor, you will need your DREWnet username and password. To request your online community login information, please call the Office of Alumni/ae Relations at (973) 408-3229 or e-mail alumni@drew.edu.
DBM, a leader in career management programs and services, offers Drew alumni/ae online career information and resources, providing a comprehensive portfolio of programs and tools, including: job leads, networking opportunities, job consultation and assessment tools.
