Drew women’s lacrosse team helped raise over $2100 as part
of the Play for the Cure Fall Tournament at Stevens Tech on Saturday, October
17th. The Rangers
joined Stevens Tech, Dowling College and Lycoming College at the four-team
tournament with each squad playing four forty minute games. Not only can the Rangers be proud of
their fundraising efforts, but Drew can also claim the tournament’s crown as it
went 3-0 on the day. Officials
donated their time, so did workers, and all proceeds will go directly to the
Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
The tournament marked the conclusion of the Rangers fall season with
tremendous success.
“I’m very happy with the way that we played,” said 2009
Landmark Conference Coach of the Year, Kim Christos. “Stevens and Lycoming are both quality DIII programs and
Dowling is a Division II team. In
addition, our team did a great job in raising money for this worthy cause. It is something that we plan to carry
over into the regular season as well.”
