Parking: Tilghman Parking Lot is a short walk from Brothers College. It is the first parking lot on your right hand side upon entering campus at the Lancaster Road Traffic Light to Drew University.

Program Description

This course will provide an introduction to book and magazine publishing, including book proposal and manuscript submissions, acquisition process, financials, legal contract negotiations, editing, design, production, marketing, and sales, as well as the evolution of digital publishing. Students will:

Learn about the industry from an insider’s point of view
Understand the various opportunities within a publishing company
Become conversant in industry language
Increase their competitiveness in internship and job searches
Be better prepared and more connected to enter the field

Registration and refund policies

Register by downloading and returning a completed registration form with payment to Drew University Office of Continuing Education, 36 Madison Ave., Madison, NJ 07940. Registrations with credit card payments can be accepted by fax to 973.408.3004. Registrations can also be dropped off in person in the Continuing Education office in Commons 110 (next to the bookstore).

Full refunds will be issued for any cancellations received by Friday, Feb. 10, 2012. All cancellations must be received in writing to owl@drew.edu. No refunds will be issued after Feb. 10 and once the course is underway.

About the instructor

Lisa Pozarowski has a ten-year career in the publishing industry. She is currently Director of Human Resources at Sterling Publishing Co. (www.sterlingpublishing.com).
