The Drew Uganda Initiative (DUI) engages in grassroots development programs in Uganda. The current focus of the program is to travel to schools in Uganda during summers and build classrooms for African children. Currently DUI is completing a building project at St. Pius Elementary School in Masajja, Uganda.
St. Pius is an elementary school which hosts roughly 750 students, most of which are underprivileged orphans, currently in only 8 classrooms. Due to a lack of funds, the young African students are forced to learn without the help of simple school necessities such as textbooks, blackboards or even enough seats to hold the students comfortably. The Drew Uganda Initative hopes to change that.
