Drew University’s Center on Religion, Culture & Conflict (CRCC) honored Derry’s Don Mullan at the inaugural CRCC Gala on March 31, 2014. Humanitarian and author of Eyewitness Bloody Sunday: The Truth, Mullan’s account of Bloody Sunday prompted the second inquiry and subsequent apology by the British Government for the events of January 1972. World-renowned Irish historian, Professor Christine Kinealy presented Mullan with the award.
In January 2014, CRCC Associate Director, Jonathan Golden chaired a session on the Irish Peace Process at the Transatlantic Connections Conference hosted by Drew’s Caspersen School of Graduate Studies held in County Donegal, Ireland. The CRCC is currently planning a 2-day conference on conflict resolution and peacebuilding to be held on January 12-16, 2015 in County Donegal. The conference will be designed to facilitate dialogue among people involved in conflict transformation and peacebuilding efforts in northern Ireland and around the globe.
