Drew attempts to meet the many needs of all of its students. For international students, these needs can concern both academic issues as well as cultural adjustment difficulties. To meet these special needs, Drew employs a small, well trained staff of professionals to work with international students.
At Drew, the International Student Advisor office oversees and assures all services to international students. The International Student Advisor helps international students with F-1 and J-1 immigration and visa issues, and develop programs to assist international students in their adjustment to the United States and university life at Drew.
In addition, they offer an orientation program for international students The Office of Student Life also works closely with the International Student Organization in sponsoring a range of cultural, educational, and social activities for the international population on campus.
While Drew does not offer an intensive English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program, there is an ESOL Coordinator on staff who works with students individually to help them overcome any language problems which may affect their academic work. In addition to this specialized academic support, students may and are encouraged to take advantage of the other services available to all Drew students (such as the writing center and tutoring).
