Credits and Criteria
How many credits can I transfer to Drew?
Students may transfer up to 64 credits to Drew from accredited two- or four-year institutions. In order to achieve a Bachelor of Arts degree from Drew, students must complete at least 128 credits. Of these 128 credits, 64 of them must be beyond the lower level and at least 32 must be at the upper level.
On what criteria is the transfer of credits based?
The transfer of credit is based on two criteria: 1) Courses must be the same as, or comparable to, those listed in the current Drew University College of Liberal Arts catalog or such as otherwise would be judged suitable for credit toward a Drew University Bachelor of Arts degree; 2) Grades of a C (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) or better must have been achieved in acceptable courses for credit to be transferred.
How can I determine how my credits will transfer?
Credits are transferred on a semester-hour basis; credits from schools on the quarter-hour system transfer to Drew at less than a one-for-one rate. Grades for transfer credit are not calculated in the official Drew grade point average. An official evaluation of credit will follow admission to the College and will be conducted by the Registrar's office. Credit previously awarded for AP courses is reevaluated on the basis of Drew's standards. (See page 16 of the Drew course catalog for information regarding credit and exemption for satisfactory AP scores.)
