Meet the Admissions Interns

Drew University's Office of College Admissions offers an internship program for current Drew students. The program has developed into one of the most sought after opportunities on campus. The interns assist the Office of College Admissions in numerous aspects of the admissions process, including interviews. Their opinions and feedback add a valuable dimension to our applicants.

I'm originally from Princeton, NJ, and a senior at Drew, and I can honestly say that the past four years have been some of the most fulfilling of my academic life thanks to the renowned College of Liberal Arts. Ever since joining the Drew University Dramatic Society my freshman year, my involvement on the Drew campus has flourished thanks to a faculty and staff that is always engaged in what is in the best interests of their students. As of fall 2009, I've traveled to and studied in Spain, Argentina, and Uruguay through the Barcelona Summer Program and the Drew International Seminar: Buenos Aires, worked as a consultant in the Writing Center, became elected to Sigma Delta Pi (Spanish Honors Society), performed for Drew Improv Players and DUDS Plays-In-Process, and became an Admissions Intern - All through Drew University! I also continue to work in Admissions as a Student Ambassador and a Peer Recruiter with the intention of working in college admissions after I graduate while I'm applying to law school.

This is my fourth year at Drew University, and my positive experience only grows with time! Drew is only an hour away from my home in Rumson, New Jersey, and with the university’s close proximity to Manhattan and its impressive liberal arts program I feel my choice in becoming a Drewid has been one of the best decisions I have made.  In addition to its wonderful reputation and its gorgeous campus, the chance to intern in the admissions office for my third year has given me the opportunity to meet more prospective students.  I enjoy strengthening connections between high school and college students.  In January of 2008, I went to Argentina on a Drew International Seminar program to study identity and ethnicity in Argentina. That experience opened my eyes to other lifestyles in the world, and that is one of the many programs that set Drew apart in my mind.  I am looking forward to my last year here; it will truly be one of the best years of my life!

I am currently a senior at Drew. I am the President of the University Program Board, a Green Key Tour Guide and a Student Coordinator of the Ambassador Program. I also spent three years as a member of the Orientation Committee or Mighty OC as we call it. I was able to travel to China in January of 2009 on a Drew International Seminar and study on Wall Street first hand in the spring of 2009 as part of the Wall Street Semester. My parents graduated for Drew in the 70’s and I have grown up loving the campus. When it came time to choose a college Drew’s small class size, beautiful campus and amazing programs won me over.

I am a senior here at Drew and am involved in the all female a cappella group, On a Different Note. I am also an RA (Resident Assistant), Green Key Tour Guide and part of the Pre Law Society. My favorite thing about Drew is the small class sizes and the personal relationships with professors. I have been given the opportunity to really get to know the professors here and appreciate all the accomplishments they have helped me make. I also love the beautiful campus; it is so wonderful to be able to live on a beautifully wooded campus but still be so close to the city! Drew has become my home away from home.

I am starting my junior year at Drew this fall and am taking five classes, I will also be an active member of the Drew Student Government Association, Model United Nations, Political Science Pre-Law Society and College Republicans. My experiences at Drew have been nothing but positive; I have found the institution provides both an outstanding academic as well as social environment. The small size of the school fosters a true sense of community amongst the student body, and the highly qualified and approachable faculty makes the classroom a place of both challenges and enjoyment.  Drew also personifies the true Liberal Arts education, as the academics here can optimally prepare any student with a sound basis for pursuing whatever career he or she may be interested in.  My personal favorite quality about the school is the opportunity it affords the students to make an actual difference, whether it is a short-term improvement to the campus itself, or a more ambitious goal such as getting into a prestigious graduate school. I look forward to meeting with prospective students to give them an even greater understanding of the school and all of the tremendous benefits and opportunities it possesses.
