The New Jersey State Legislature requires that any institution that receives state aid shall include with any letter of acceptance information on the average increase in tuition charges during the preceding three fiscal years and a statement that tuition may increase in the future.

In compliance with this regulation and as a service to the families of admitted students, we list the following information:

Average Yearly Tuition Increase For The Last Three Years: 4.7%

  • For academic year 2007 - 2008: 5.3%
  • For academic year 2008 - 2009: 4.9%
  • For academic year 2009 - 2010: 3.9%

The University makes every effort to hold increases to a minimum; however, recent experience indicates that students should plan on Drew cost increases at least equal to the increase of the national inflation rate.

Other federal regulations require that we also report the following information to students offered admission:

Graduation Rate: 77%. This represents the most recent graduation rate for first-year students who enrolled in Drew's College of Liberal Arts in the Fall 2002 term and who graduated or completed course work by May 2008.

Campus Security: The Drew Department of Public Safety provides the Drew community and its students with a safe environment in which to live, study and pursue educational goals. Responsibilities include crime prevention and investigation, fire safety, parking, and other campus regulations. The Department works closely with the Department of Educational and Student Affairs and all residence life staff members.

The Department is under the leadership of Chief Tom Evans, who served for 23 years with the New Jersey State Police and on several terrorist task forces during those years. He has been Director of Public Safety at Drew for over ten years. His department is recognized throughout the state for its highly trained staff of professional men and women and it provides a level of service usually associated with larger campus communities.

Drew Public Safety also cooperates closely with the Madison Police and Fire Departments. A major reason for Drew's excellent safety record is its location in the town of Madison, a community that enjoys one of the lowest crime rates in New Jersey.

Further information about the Department, its policies, procedures and crime statistics are available on the Department of Public Safety home page. Please refer to the parking regulations handbook and note that resident first and second year students are not permitted to have cars on campus.
