Quarterly Admissions Update

DART Quarterly Update – October 2009

Drew made history this year with 505 first-year and 50 transfer students. We welcomed students from 26 states and from such distant shores as Japan and Turkey. Drew has been able to maintain its pledge to diversify the university with students of color comprising 21% of enrolled students.

The great successes this year are due in part to the new and wonderful programs we have to offer. Students were drawn to the Baldwin Honors Program, the Civic Engagement Scholarship Program, and the new Business Studies major. As always they were also drawn to our fabulous faculty and coaching staffs.

The Office of College Admissions has hit the ground running to recruit for the Class of 2014. With the help of eleven area representatives and DART members across the country, we are set to visit over 1,500 high schools and nearly 400 college fairs this fall.

On campus we are busy as well, having scheduled more than 400 interviews through December. With the help of DART volunteers, we can now interview so many more students on and off campus. Open houses are also in full swing and registration for them is up 32% over last year.

We could not achieve such great success without the enthusiasm and vitality of DART members.  If you would like to become involved, join the DART team!  Feel free to contact the DART coordinator, Erica Palmieri C’08, at epalmier@drew.edu.
