Accessibility Resources

Services for students with disabilities

In support of Drew’s mission to promote the “cultivation of the whole person” the Office of Accessibility Resources (OAR) is committed to removing barriers to the education of persons with documented disabilities as members of its “diverse community of learners.” To this end, OAR collaborates with University partners and offices to afford students with disabilities equal opportunity to participate in all aspects of the broad educational and social experience found at Drew.   As part of Academic Services, the desire to help students maximize their academic success guides the practice of this Office by connecting students to coaching, peer-tutoring and specialized advisement as well as career and personal counseling.

Accessing services

Receipt of services and accommodations is necessarily dependent upon student self-identification. Supporting documentation (written by a licensed professional, qualified in the specialty of the disclosed disability) is reviewed in a personal and confidential meeting with the Coordinator of Accessibility Resources. Reasonable accommodations are reached in an interactive process based on the nature of the disability, the documents provided and the accommodations requested considering the requirements and structure of individual courses and the participatory nature of Drew classes.

Disclosing a Disability At Drew

Students who wish to disclose a disability at Drew for the purpose of requesting accommodations may complete the Disclosure Form at the tab below.  Please refer to the Documentation Guidelines by clicking on the appropriate tab.
