See the World Through Science

Science majors may study abroad. Especially popular are Drew University’s own programs. Two that often include Biology majors are:

• Drew’s course “Tropical Marine Ecology” takes students to the coast of Belize during spring break.

• Drew’s “Health and Human Development in Africa” ShortTREC takes students to South Africa to examine modern and traditional medical practice.

Recent students have also done semester-long study abroad programs in Australia and Bonnaire.

It's an Honor

At Drew University, Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) serves as both an active biology club and honor society, and participation in the society's events is open to all students who share an interest in the biological sciences.

To be inducted into the society, students must complete service hours each semester, meet specific GPA requirements, and be a biology, biochemistry and molecular biology, biological anthropology, neuroscience, or environmental science and sustainability major.

Biology Department Events

Several events are hosted annually for students to interact with faculty and other students beyond the classroom, and to provide students with valuable information as they plan for internships and careers.
