Headlines

  • 410 equestrianJames Fairclough II won the Cacchione Cup at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association’s National Championships in Los Angeles. 

  • The RangerBear Golf Outing has been postponed to an undetermined date due to weather.  There is no make-up date as of yet, but when it is decided it will be posted here.

  • Drew’s men’s lacrosse team won its second title of the season by defeating Swarthmore, 7-5, in the ECAC Metro/South Championships.  The Rangers had lost to the Garnets two weeks ago, but avenged that loss with a big road victory to finish the season at 11-7. 

  •  Drew women’s lacrosse season came to an end with a loss to the ECAC’s top seed, Dickinson, 21-10.  The Rangers finish up their season with a 10-8 record and playoff appearances in both the ECAC and Landmark Conference.  Stacie Brown had four goals and Lindsey Perno scored three. 

  • Drew advanced to the ECAC Finals with a solid 13-8 win over SUNY-Maritime.  Jon Bucknam scored four goals and assisted on two more as the Rangers went ahead to a championship match-up with Swarthmore. 

  • Drew dominated its ECAC Quarterfinal with Gwynedd-Mercy, 18-3.  The Rangers will move on to face ECAC top seed Dickinson at Stevens Tech on Saturday.  Drew had nine different goal scorers and got great play from three different goalkeepers in the win. 

  • Some championships are won when an individual player puts his team on his back and carries them to the title; others are won when a team as a whole steps up to play better than the sum of its parts.  Today, the Drew Rangers were the later as they won a tense, hard fought affair with the Goucher Gophers to take the inaugural Landmark Conference Men’s Lacrosse championships, 8-5, at Ranger Stadium.

  • Collini 2Drew lost its opening game of the Landmark Conference playoffs, 2-0, at Moravian.  The Rangers went toe-to-toe with the top seed Moravian for six scoreless innings before the Greyhounds scored two unearned runs in the sixth. 

  • Gags 2Two of the postseason bound Rangers were selected to the All-Landmark Conference Softball team.  Pitcher Lauren Collini and outfielder Nicole Gagliardi were both tabbed for the second team. 

  • Soldo 1Drew’s James Soldo was voted to the All-Landmark Conference Baseball second team by the conference’s coaches.  Soldo finished seventh in the conference in batting with a .388 average.
