Benefits of mindfulness practices include reduced anxiety, less emotional reactivity, boosts to working memory, and improved focus and concentration. The McClintock Center for Counseling and Psychological Services offers a lunchtime drop-in mindfulness group from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Counseling Center (same building as the Health Service). This group is not religiously oriented, nor is it a therapy group. No prior experience in mindfulness or meditation practice is necessary.
