It is with great joy that I take a moment to share with you the latest news, programs and opportunities that the Theological School and the Alumni Association have been coordinating over the past couple of months.

On April 15 the Drew community will gather together to celebrate the tenure of Maxine Beach, who retires from her position as Dean of the Theological School at the end of this academic year. Over the past decade Maxine has advanced the seminary in countless ways and touched many of our lives in the process.

From May through June, graduates of the Theological School will host alumni gatherings at more than twenty United Methodist Annual Conferences around the country. Alumni are encouraged to join these gatherings to catch up with classmates, connect with alumni from your conference, and hear firsthand from faculty and administrators about current directions in the Theological School.

Finally, I am pleased to announce that the 2010 Tipple-Vosburgh Lectures and Alumni Reunion will be “Soul Work: A Conversation on Spiritual Practices”. From Tuesday, October 19, through Thursday, October 21, the program will include a plenary session led by Richard Rohr, Founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation.

I hope you will take the opportunity to participate in one, or more, of the many programs offered and continue the journey of spiritual formation and fellowship that we started together at Drew.

Rev. Michelle Bogue-Trost T’99
