Technology Helpdesk Move-in to Academic Commons

The University Technology (UT) Helpdesk will be moving to the Vivian A. Bull Academic Commons on Thursday, Sept. 25. We anticipate the move will take 2-4 days, so the Helpdesk will not reopen in the new space until Monday, Sept. 29, at 9 a.m.  In conjunction with the Helpdesk move, the UT Service Center will move to LC 50, also on Thursday, Sept. 25. The phones will be operational at the UT Helpdesk until the Service Center is ready to take phone calls; therefore, the Service Center will be operational on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 25 and 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 973-408-4357. During the move, the Heldpesk will be unavailable to assist with hardware and software repairs, password changes, Duo Security issues, etc. If a customer’s computer is at the desk during this transition and is ready for pickup, this can be arranged by contacting the Service Center at 973-408-4357. Customers will be directed to the Instructional Technology Center, located in the academic commons behind the group study lounges. We apologize for the inconvenience but are confident that centralizing services will ultimately contribute to streamlined customer support, allowing us to better serve the community. Thank you!

Faculty Lab, Staff Lab and Student Technology Education Lab moving Septembe …

University Technology is pleased to announce that The Faculty Lab, Staff Lab and Student Technology Education Lab will be moving to the Academic Commons on Friday, September 5th. Our combined space will be called the Instructional Technology Center, and will be located in the former Cataloging Room on the C-Level of the Library. The following University Technology Staff will be located in the Instructional Technology Center: Peter Albar, Staff Technology Consultant, Enterprise Technology Services Gamin Bartle, Director, Instructional Technology and User Services Verna Holcomb, Training Coordinator, ITUS Nicole Pinto, Instructional Technology Specialist, ITUS We will be closed Friday, September 5th and Monday, September 8th as we move and set up in our new location. Faculty requests for Moodle course restores will be accepted and processed throughout Friday and Monday as usual. Please fill out the appropriate Moodle Support Request Form. The Vivian A. Bull Academic Commons is opening soon!

The Library and University Technology are pleased to announce that the Vivian A. Bull Academic Commons will be opening as the semester begins. The Academic Commons will bring together a number of learning support services on the main floor (C-Level) of the Library. The physical proximity of  these learning support services will afford exciting opportunities for creative collaboration for the entire Drew Community.   These areas will be up and running by the first day of classes: Library services Circulation/Reserves Desk Research Help Desk Interlibrary Loan The Center for Academic Excellence Center for Writing Excellence  Peer Tutoring Academic Coaching Math and Science Resource Center The INTO Learning Resource Center The Academic Commons will also feature: University Technology/Library Classroom Additional Computers Centralized area for printing and copying These areas are coming online a bit later on: Instructional Technology Center – scheduled to move Friday, September 5 FacLab, Staff Lab and Student Technology Education Lab services will be combined in one space.
