We are very excited to open the nomination process for the 2013 Student Activities Awards!

The last day to fill out this nomination is **Friday, March 8, 2013 **

Special Note: Please feel free to nominate more than one individual or group for an award. The nomination form is at the bottom of the page.

Each award application for individual awards will be reviewed by a committee of Drew University staff members; club/organization and program awards will be reviewed by the Student Government, Student Organization and Advisory Board. We may request that nominees submit a resume or additional information to provide further insight  to assist our committee in their evaluation of each nominee. If needed, the information request form will be sent via email to each nominee directly from Student Activities.

Awards will be distributed at our event:

List of Awards

Gold D: This award is for Seniors only. Gold D recipients have dedicated him/herself to outstanding service for the Drew Community throughout his/her tenure at Drew. Individuals selected for this award in the past have left a legacy by creating unique opportunities for Drew students both on and off campus through service opportunities, developing active organizations, and leading their peers in hosting successful events.

25 Under 25 Awards: We are excited to announce a new tradition to honor our student leaders! Student Activities 25 Under 25, will honor innovative, change-makers and active student leaders who have positively impacted our campus, local or global community.

Class of 1983 Award: This award is an endowed gift by the Senior Gift Fund of the Class of 1983. This award was founded during the Class of 1983’s junior year, so as to recognize one or more outstanding members of the junior class for his/her proven dedication to the improvement of student life.

Thomas D. Sayles Award: In honor and recognition Thomas D. Sayles legacy of service for our community, the Thomas D. Sayles Award will honor one member of the junior class for his or her outstanding commitment and dedication to service.

William G. Hosking Scholarship: This award was established in 2001 by a group of Drew University Alumni in recognition of William G. (“Billy”) Hosking’s service to Drew University and its Athletic Department since 1983. It is awarded annually to (one or more) students who demonstrate financial need and who show high promise for contributing to extracurricular life. The recipient shall exemplify some of Billy’s characteristics, such as dedication, honor, commitment, care, and loyalty to the University.

Graduate Student Award: This individual has exhibited outstanding service to the Drew community within their time as a graduate student. This award may be given to graduate students at any point in their studies, however, each individual may only receive this award once in their career as a Drew University graduate student.

Theological Student Award: This individual has exhibited outstanding service to the Drew community within their time as a Theological School student. This award may be given to Theological School students at any point in their studies, however, each individual may only receive this award once in their career as a Drew University Theological School student.

CLA Club/Organization of the Year: This student group has greatly contributed to Drew University by raising awareness and/or educating our community about causes or issues relating to the mission of the group. This group should also bring a positive uniqueness to life at Drew and our community.

Graduate School Club/Organization of the Year: This student group has greatly contributed to Drew University by raising awareness and/or educating our community about causes or issues relating to the mission of the group. This group should also bring a positive uniqueness to life at Drew and our community.

Theological School Club/Organization of the Year: This student group has greatly contributed to Drew University by raising awareness and/or educating our community about causes or issues relating to the mission of the group. This group should also bring a positive uniqueness to life at Drew and our community.

Dean’s Award: This award will honor and recognize a person, an on-campus group, a program, or a department that demonstrates a tremendous and awe-inspiring commitment to campus life and positive change for our Drew Community. In its first year, this award was given to the CLA Student Government for their amazing dedication and plan for change to transition and build an entirely new structure for the undergraduate Student Government.

Large-Scale Program of the Year: This successful program was hosted by a club or organization, excellently planned and attended by 100 or more individuals, and/or had a budget of $500 or more. Three awards will be given, one to a CLA group, one to a Graduate School group, and one to a Theological School group.

Small-Scale Program of the Year: This successful program was hosted by a club or organization, excellently planned and attended by 100 or less individuals, and/or had a budget of less than $500. Three awards will be given, one to a CLA group, one to a Graduate School group, and one to a Theological School group.

Faculty Member of the Year Award: For the faculty member who has greatly and tirelessly contributed to student activities and student life at Drew University. Three awards will be given, one to a faculty member nominated by CLA students or a group, one to a Graduate School faculty member nominated by Graduate School students or a group, and one to a Theological School faculty member nominated by Theological School students or a group.

Staff Member of the Year Award: For the staff member who has greatly and tirelessly contributed to student activities and student life at Drew University. Three awards will be given, one to a staff member nominated by CLA students or a group, one to a staff member nominated by Graduate School students or a group, and one to a staff member nominated by Theological School students or a group.
