Register for a June Orientation session today! June Orientation is specifically for new first year students!
We ask that you attend only one Orientation session, of your choosing!
The program dates are: Monday, June 24; Tuesday, June 25; or Wednesday, June 26.
If you cannot attend a June Orientation session, please register for an alternative Orientation Program session. Alternative Orientation session are online programs or a combination of an online program and phone advisement.
June Orientation Program Schedule (subject to change)
9 – 9:30 AM: Registration & Continental Breakfast
9:30 – 9:45 AM: Welcome to Drew!
9:45 – 10:30 AM: Academic Expectations & General Education Requirements
10:30 AM – 11:15 AM: Life on Campus Expectations Presentation
11:30 AM – 12:30PM or 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Lunch, Group I/II (assigned when you arrive)
12:30 – 2:30 PM: Placement Exams - not for all students! Please view our website for more information! Please note, the online placement exams must be completed BEFORE you attend a June Orientation session!
- Chemistry – This exam will be administered on campus (12:30 PM)
- Biology - This exam will be administered on campus (1:30 PM)
- Language Exams - The following exams will be offered at June Orientation: Arabic or Russian (12:30 PM)
- These exames are only for students with some knowledge of the language you wish you take. For example, if you have never taken Russian, but you would like to take Russian here at Drew, you are not required to take the placement exam
- Language Exams - The following exams are now available online: Spanish, Italian, French, Latin, and German
- These are online exams – please complete your exam BEFORE attending June Orientation
- Writing Placement - Now available online; please complete BEFORE attending June Orientation!
12:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Academic Advisement
- All students will be assigned 20 minutes to meet individually with an academic advisor
- Students will receive your assigned advisement time upon arrival to campus
- Parents, this is a time for your student to begin developing a relationship with a faculty member, therefore this meeting is exclusively just for your student and the advisor.
12:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Presentations from Campus Departments and Resources
- Presentations from University departments including:
- Academic Services and the Writing Center
- Academic Services includes: Disability Services, tutoring, and many other resources!
- Special note: Due to a very full schedule with many students and parents, one-on-one appointments with the Disability Services Specialist, Asha Nambiar, are not available during June Orientation sessions. Instead we ask that you email Dr. Nambiar at anambiar@drew.edu to schedule an in-person or phone meeting for another date.
