Monday, September 1

This year first year students have the opportunity to volunteer at a working farm in NJ on Monday, September 1.  Please note that this trip is not mandatory and that space is limited, so be sure to sign up sooner rather then later!

We are currently at capacity for participation — you may still sign up but will be wait-listed. You will receive a confirmation email if you are confirmed to go.

Grow-A-Row in Pittstown, NJ (bus is provided)
12:00pm to 4pm

Grow-a-Row, located in Pittstown NJ, is a non-profit organization that grows and gleans fresh, healthy produce that is then donated to food pantries, soup kitchens and crisis centers all over the state of New Jersey. The farm delivers produce to food desert areas (areas where people lack access to healthy, fresh, affordable produce) to set up a Free Farm Market. There, they connect with residents in need of produce and thus help address issues of diabetes, obesity, and other health concerns that are often associated with food desert areas and financial hardship.  Drew volunteers will be put to work for a morning of harvesting crops that are ready to be picked – perhaps corn, string beans, squash or cabbage.  Just bring your strong back and a smile! Please be sure to wear sunscreen, closed toe shoes, and to bring a hat! Waters and snacks will be provided.

The bus will leave at 12:00 PM from the Forum Parking Lot and will depart the farm at 3:00 PM.
