Drew
President's Award for Distinguished Teaching Nomination
The close bond between the students and our exceptional faculty has been evident since the day I arrived on campus almost three years ago. This relationship is the backbone of the both the university and its community. Once again, I am delighted to have the opportunity to present the President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching to one of my fine colleagues at this year’s Commencement ceremony.
Drew University’s President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching is a great honor that also carries a total award of $10,000 to the winner. Half of that amount is given directly to the winner and the other half will be spent by the University on any project that the winner chooses. The past three winners, who are ineligible to win this year, were Professors, Fred Curtis (2005), Roger Knowles (2006), and Geraldine Smith-Wright (2007).
Based on the nominations submitted by you and your fellow graduating seniors, I will select the winner from the full-time College faculty. I hope you will take a moment to nominate one full-time College faculty member and to share your thoughts about this special individual. As you consider your nomination, please think not only of classroom teaching but also of involvement in the life of the Drew community. Nominations must be received by 5:00 PM on Friday, May 2nd.
Please call Mike Kopas at x3580 with any questions.
