The test will not be offered during the months of June, July, and August.

The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is a high-level mental ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. It consists of 120 partial analogies that are to be completed in 60 minutes. Fluency in the English language, a broad knowledge of literature, philosophy, history, science, mathematics, and fine arts, and the ability to reason out relationships may contribute to performance on the MAT. There is no foreign-language edition of the MAT.

No one is permitted to use a dictionary or any other reference aid when taking the MAT. Study Guides are available in most book stores and libraries.

The fee for taking the test is $90.00 which is payable by cash or check. This fee covers one personal score report for yourself, and up to three schools (specified when you take the MAT) being sent official score reports.

The test is scored by The Psychological Corporation and the results take approximately two to three weeks. Along with the fee and the three names of the schools you are applying to, you will also need to bring two forms of I.D., at least one with a picture.

To make arrangements to take the MAT or for further information contact the MAT Coordinator at 973 408 3398 or x3398.
